2011 Calculation Raises Living Wage for Metro Vancouver

The Living Wage for Families Campaign, with the assistance of CCPA, has just released the new living wage figure for Metro Vancouver: $18.81 per hour. The living wage hourly rate is calculated to provide a family with two earners (both working full-time) and two young children with a wage sufficient to cover their basic living expenses such as food, clothing and shelter. You can find the full details, including how to calculate the Living Wage in your community at www.policyalternatives.ca/livingwage2011.

The Canadian HR Reporter has published an interesting article about the new calculation – read it here.
